The lurgy has struck Jack the Biscuit.Not only have I had my third bout of tonsilitis ( :-( but Colin,Jamie,Nick all came back from Bodelwyddan Castle with a viscious virus , a real flu and not I hasten to add a ''manflu '' .. :-) Poor babies.
All in all things have been fairly quiet due to illness and the fact that more and more venues cant afford to put bands on.Why I hear you cry.Answer.....COZ PEOLPE DONT BOTHER GOING TO SUPPORT THE BANDS and because of this the venues cant pay a REALISTIC fee to the musicians.Is it apathy or the fact that beer prices have gone through the roof and with petrol prices going through the stratosphere ...gawd help us who can afford to go out.Will it end up that we end up doing gigs in our living rooms ? I think the other problem is that poeple may look at musicians as just in it for a laugh - which of course it is - but its also a serious career move for some or it would be if there were realistic wages.
Our next gig is on Saturday 10th May in Langtons,Newport.Lovely venue but once again likely to stop having bands coz people wont go and see the bands. Booooo :-(
